Following Justin Trudeau's exit as the Canadian Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party, US President-elect Donald Trump has once again pitched the idea of Canada merging with the United States as its 51st state.
Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump called for Canada's merger and stated that it the country does move in with the US, it will be "secure from the threats from Russia and China."
Since his landslide victory in the US Presidential Elections in 2024, Trump has threatened neighbouring countries of Mexico and Canada with increased tariffs and taxes.
